Digitalization helps to work on sustainability. This goes from data to improve the utilization of our trucks to minimizing paperwork. In the next years, Big Data 2.0 will be key to reach our goals for lower emissions.

We want both a cleaner environment, by controlling the CO2-emissions, and streamline organizational activities. We are focusing on minimizing printed documents and integrating programs to facilitate the communication between departments, with the drivers and also with our clients.

Maximum attention is also given to the use of the specific technologies in order to increase the security of the company. The technology is moving faster than a few years ago and we need to keep up with it. We focus on constant reduction of the impact on the environment by monitoring the ECODriving parameters on all trucks in the fleet, analyzing them and conducting personalized trainings with our drivers.

At E. van Wijk, we take care about the energy and we constantly want to find the best ways to reduce the paperwork by integrating different programs which are advantageous both internally and externally.

At this time, we have programs that facilitate communication between planners and drivers, so that information is shared in real time. This way, no details are lost, and we can keep our promises to our customers. Our drivers automatically receive details on the on-board computer about the transport orders from our planning system. They can easily find out – in real time – what they have to do so that the goods are picked up/delivered on time.

Our planners can see in real time the status and position of each truck, they have information about estimated time of arrival (ETA). Because we know that issues can occur on the road, we are always prepared to solve them. Having a team of professionals with great experience, we can proactively estimate some obstacles before they appear, so that the loading/unloading date is not affected.

We are proud that some of our clients have been our travel partners since the start. We invest, build, develop, and maintain partnerships, being flexible in meeting customer requirements. We provide high quality services and customized solutions adapted to our clients’ needs.

We have developed interfaces with some of our clients, both for transport and warehousing services, so that data exchanges are made automatically, without risks of information loss. For our warehousing customers, we have a web portal which allows them to check in real time the stocks of goods.

For the future, one of our goals is to implement different web portals in order to meet our clients’ needs. Web portals can help us streamline the communication process both internally and externally, with emphasis on the results desired by all parties involved.
