E. van Wijk Logistics B.V. :
a healthy company with robust ambitions
E. van Wijk Logistics B.V. is an international haulage company that offers
a wide range of logistic services. Our core business is haulage, particularly
covered lorry transport and conditioned transport. The combination of
fast-growing warehousing with Value Added Logistics activities makes our
company an extremely interesting option for demanding clients.
E.
van Wijk was established by Ewout van Wijk (1922) in 1949. The current
owner is Ewout’s son Ad van Wijk (1949), though the operations of
E. van Wijk Nederland are steered by a management team headed by Anton
Stam (1968). The company owes its success to approximately 600 employees
in the Netherlands, Romania and the Ukraine, including 300 drivers in
its own employment.
The E. van Wijk branches in Romania and the Ukraine are entirely independent.

E. van Wijk is a family business that is open to innovation and developments.
The facilities in Giessen have been ‘built for growth’ with
spacious shunting yards, garages and offices. The warehouse was extended
in 2006 and now covers 10,000 m² and 18 docks.
A modern workplace with its own truckwash – including tank cleaning
– completes the facilities at headquarters.
E. van Wijk also has a strong market position in Romania with five branches
– two with warehousing facilities – and various transport-related
importerships, including the official importership for DAF Trucks NV.
The success in Romania has all the hallmarks of ‘predestination’.
After the fall of the dictator Ceaucescu in 1989, the current owner Ad
van Wijk was asked to transport relief goods to Romania and was surprised
to find that his efforts led to a business deal. A haulage company was
established in Cluj-Napoca with the local contact person as early as 1992.
The same Romanian pioneers now run five regionally spread businesses.
E. van Wijk intends to use this strong starting position to develop the
Dutch-Romanian axis in the future. This is how a new branch was opened
in the Ukraine in 2004 – getting off to a flying start with 7 vehicles.
All in all, E. van Wijk is undergoing a steadily accelerating development,
undeniably the result of the trust it places in people, be they employees,
customers or suppliers.
